The second edition of the Textile Academy is starting

An educational project launched with Confindustria Lecco and Sondrio in collaboration with ManPower Group

The second edition of the Textile Academy is starting

After the success of the first edition in 2019, the Textile Academy restarts, the Confindustria Lecco and Sondrio project organized with the Textile Product Category of the Association to which Limonta belongs, together with other textile companies in the territory (Manifattura Corti, Novatex Italia, Rossini della Quercia) and carried out in collaboration with ManpowerGroup. Created to help to meet the demands of companies looking for skilled people to be included in their production departments, Confindustria Human Resources Academy proposes a new edition dedicated to the textile sector, which has started this week.
Promoted by the Confindustria Lecco and Sondrio Textile Product Category, this initiative is carried out with the associated companies Limonta, Manifattura Corti, Novatex Italia and Rossini della Quercia, as well as in collaboration with ManpowerGroup and ECOLE - Enti Confindustriali Lombardi per l’Education (Lombardy Confindustria Bodies for Education), while resources are guaranteed by the FormaTemp Fund.
"Given the difficulties in finding qualified people in the labour market who are ready to take on some essential operational roles in the textile sector, we need to respond with education and training" says Stefano Losa, Human Resources Director at Limonta.
"For this reason, we are repeating what we successfully did in 2019, also involving other textile companies in the territory that are experiencing the same problem" continues Losa. "The lack of qualified personnel is a problem of the territory and not of the individual company; we must react by making "system" and this is meant to be a small attempt to go in that direction".
The educational path is organized on the basis of the needs expressed by the companies of the Textile Product Category, which revealed the need to have personnel with skills in specific areas. Therefore, the project includes two focus profiles: weaver and mechanical maintenance technician for looms. The aim is to provide an in-depth knowledge to carry out the typical operations of these two roles, also developing manual and problem-solving skills. The course includes 80 hours of total theoretical training at the Lecco office of ECOLE and at the Limonta headquarters and with company visits to the factories of Manifattura Corti and Rossini della Quercia. The participants will then be hired by the partner companies of the project through an agency leasing contract, during which they will also carry out a total of 40 hours training on the job.
